U.S. HOCKEY HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY SET FOR THURSDAY

Berglund, D. Hatcher, K. Hatcher, Nagobads and Roenick to Be Inducted
 
The 38th annual U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner will take place Thursday (Oct. 21) at 7 p.m. (EST), at HSBC Arena, home of the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabres, in Buffalo, N.Y.

The star-studded Class of 2010 includes Art Berglund, Derian Hatcher, Kevin Hatcher, Dr. V. George Nagobads and Jeremy Roenick. Longtime ESPN SportsCenter anchor and hockey broadcaster Steve Levy will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the evening's festivities.

The ceremony will include a special tribute to the silver medal-winning 1972 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team. Ten members of the team will be in attendance, including Huffer Christiansen, Mike "Lefty" Curran, Tom Mellor, Dick McGlynn, Ron Naslund, Frank Sanders, Craig Sarner, Pete Sears, Tim Sheehy and Head Coach Murray Williamson.

A who's who of hockey is slated to attend, including NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman; Bill Daly, NHL deputy commissioner; USA Hockey President Ron DeGregorio; Dave Ogrean, USA Hockey executive director; Brian Burke, Toronto Maple Leafs general manager; Paul Holmgren, Philadelphia Flyers general manager; Doug Armstrong, St. Louis Blues general manager; Darcy Regier, Buffalo Sabres general manager; Bob Nicholson, Hockey Canada president; Dave Tomassoni, chair of the U.S. hockey Hall of Fame Board of Directors; Paul Kelly, executive director of College Hockey, Inc.; Bruce McLeod, Western Collegiate Hockey Association commissioner; Jeff Sauer, longtime University of Wisconsin men's ice hockey coach; and Bill Selman, longtime college hockey coach, who had stints at four diferent universities.

Three members of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame selection committee will also be in attendance, including Tim Taylor, 1994 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey head coach and longtime Yale University men's ice hockey coach, USA Today's Kevin Allen and U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Lefty Curran. In addition, three-time U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Head Coach Ben Smith (1998, 2002, 2006) and 1984 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Head Coach Lou Vairo are slated to be at the event. Jim Craig and Buzz Schneider from the 1980 Miracle on Ice Team will also be present.

The 2010 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Dinner is presented by Rich Products Corporation, a pioneer in the frozen food industry and leading supplier in the foodservice, in-store bakery and retail marketplaces, which houses its headquarters in Buffalo. Major partners in the event also include the NHL Foundation and the NHL Players Association.
