NOTE: Currently, volunteer registraiton is closed. If you would like to be placed on a waiting list to volunteer for the 2011 IIHF U20 World Junior Championship, please click here.
The Host Organizing Committee, City of Buffalo, N.Y. and especially the Buffalo Sabres organization would like to thank everyone who has and will offer to dedicate precious time and effort to this once-in-a-lifetime event. As witnessed in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan this year volunteers are the main reason major events such as this are successful.
For the 2011 IIHF Under 20 World Championship Tournament, we are looking for:
- Reliable and enthusiastic individuals age 18 and above, who can dedicate between three to eight hours a day for 11-12 consecutive days.
- Shifts will average approximately 3-4 hours with no more than 2 shifts per day allowed. Times will vary between 8:00 A.M. - 11:00 P.M. based on final practice and game schedules.
- Uniforms will be supplied by Nike at a significant cost to the tournament. It is for this reason that a fully refundable $50 deposit is required. After you have completed your volunteer requirements for the tournament we will issue a $50 credit to your credit card account.
- A lottery will determine staffing for medal games.
- HSBC Arena will be the featured rink. Dwyer Arena at Niagara University will serve as the satellite arena. Buffalo State College will potentially serve as practice venues.
